I’m not ‘from’ North Dakota – as in I wasn’t born or raised here. I didn’t graduate from high school here, I didn’t get married or have children here. I did, however, meet my two best friends here. One I married and the other was my soul mate for 35 years. It has been said that home is where the heart is, so if that is true, then North Dakota is my home. The place where most of my grandchildren were born, the place where my heart was made whole and my soul has found peace. So when trying to find something that spoke of home to my granddaughters who no longer live in North Dakota, I thought of the idea to create a design to remind them of where they were ‘made’. So…’Made in North Dakota’ was born. My daughter has been a significant influence in my journey with RJ&T and we’d had other creative successes with designs, including “I Wish”, so I reached out to her for input and help with her Photoshop and graphic design skills to help create this design. Of course I had her incorporate green into the design and then after the transfers were completed they were put onto gold hoodies. The significance, for those that don’t know, is green and gold are the colors of NDSU and the infamous (for North Dakota football fans anyway) NDSU Bison. Not to take away from any of the other colleges and football teams in North Dakota – but Fargo is from where they came so it seemed appropriate. So I hope you North Dakotans, and anyone else that likes the design, enjoy wearing these new offerings!
